ClaySecure A100 is ideal for use during acidizing treatments. A Berea sandstone core treated with 2.0 wt% ClaySecure A100 in 15% HCl was protected from fines migration and swelling after four acid treatments without re-application of clay stabilizer. Pressure drop of 2.0 wt% ClaySecure run at 77ºF as a function of the cumulative injected volume at flow rate = 5 cm3/min.
ClaySecure A100 works in concentration as low as 0.2%. A Berea sandstone core treated with 1.0 wt% ClaySecure A100 was protected from fines migration and swelling after an extended fresh water soak and acid treatment without re-application of clay stabilizer. Pressure drop of 1.0 wt% ClaySecure at 200ºF as a function of the cumulative injected volume at a flow rate = 5 cm3/min.
ClaySecure A100 works at high temperature and in high pH conditions as well. A Berea sandstone core treated with 2.0 wt% ClaySecure A100 was protected from fines migration and swelling after an extended NaOH soak without re-application of clay stabilizer. Pressure drop of 2.0 wt% ClaySecure at 300ºF as a function of the cumulative injected volume at a flow rate = 5 cm3/min at high pH medium.
